You Mean I Need A Marketing Budget?

Everywhere you go, you’ll see articles about how to spend less on marketing your business, or cut costs in other places. That’s an admirable sentiment as we all want to keep our businesses lean and keep the greater part of the income. However, cutting too close will spell the end of your business success. If that sounds wrong, read on and find out why you’re definitely shooting yourself in the foot if you try to spend next to nothing on your business’s marketing budget.

Web 2.0 offers some amazing opportunities when it comes to getting the word out about your products and services and more importantly, yourself. And don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE fan of Web 2.0. From blogs to social networking sites, it’s one way I and others help people learn about who we are and what we have to offer them. It’s even relatively inexpensive, though there’s some real time investment going into this kind of marketing program.

However, many people have been focusing on this type of web based marketing to the exclusion of other techniques, and it’s gotten to the point where they’re forgetting about the other options. Some people have gone as far as to think it’s wrong or “uncool” to spend money on marketing. After all, they can get Web 2.0 campaigns going for nothing or next to it.

Or can they?

That Old Adage …

You see, there’s an old adage that you’ve probably heard already -you get what you pay for. Time and time again, it turns out to be true. Does that mean that the social networking strategy is useless? Of course NOT, but you have to take the long view when you’re doing it, and there’s a lot of effort that goes into it. Plus, the social method is really better at establishing your brand and building you up as an authority in the field than it is to generate immediate leads and sales.

Even just on the Internet, there are other venues that you shouldn’t be ignoring! If you’ve found yourself spending hours on MySpace, Twitter and similar sites adding friends, if you’ve spent ALL day chatting on message boards and updating your blog, but you haven’t been making much from it, you’re probably wondering what’s wrong. And the truth is that you’re overdoing it. Marketing gurus have been focusing on the wonders of Web 2.0 and social networking so they can sell you their “how-to” books on using social marketing, and that’s made the rest of us forget about the use of other media and opportunities.

Let’s Be Ridiculously Blunt

Spending ALL your time on social sites isn’t building your business. You’re just adding another chore into your day, giving the owners of the social media all the free content they can use so they can make money selling advertising space. And the return is about ten cents an hour in most cases. Even the poorest paid workers in the world make more than that, so why let yourself get stuck there? You have to spend a little to make money. It’s a rule that’s been around for years, and it’s not any less true. And it’s not going anywhere either.

So where should you be spending that money, and how much should you spend? The truth of the matter is that it’s all about where your target audience will run into you. And if you don’t have a target audience yet or know who you’re targeting, it’s time to go back to Marketing 101…

If you’re mostly marketing towards very tech savvy people, the newspaper isn’t a bad place to put an ad, but blog sponsorships and Google pay-per-click advertising (my favorite method) might be better targeted. On the other hand, if your target audience uses the web some, but is generally looking for someone in their area, try the local paper, radio spots, or even a short commercial on a local television station.

Each method of advertising has a different cost, depending on the media. However, the most costly methods also usually reach the most people, so they can be worth the outlay. What’s important is not counting every penny. Instead, you need to think about what those pennies (and the time you’re spending on your campaign) are buying for you. Your business shouldn’t be the cheapest – it should be the most effective!

Businesses Have Succeeded By Marketing Budgets For Years

Businesses have been succeeding by putting together a well thought out and well funded ad and marketing campaign for themselves for decades. The presence of the Internet doesn’t change the fact that this is what works. Think about it – why would a new medium change the laws of business? Spend a little to get the word out properly, and you’ll be surprised at the difference it makes. From PPC campaigns to billboards, a good marketing budget is key.

Don’t rush out there and start spending on the first opportunity you see, of course. Advertising media have no responsibility for your success. And the social networks most people are addicted to will be happy to drain your wallet dry to advertise in their space…

You have to think about your campaign and make sure that it’s going to help you before you lay out that money. Analyze what you want to say, what image you want to present, and who you want to reach, then select the means to do it from the enormous variety of options available to your business (not just Web 2.0).

That’s really all there is to it. Spend money to make money. Not spending money in important areas, like marketing, will cause your business to languish and die. There’s no way around it, and no way to get that all important customer attention for free, even if you spend hours and hours on your attempts. You’ll just be wasting your time.

Invest in a quality plan and make sure that your marketing efforts are adequately funded. Don’t be tempted to cut corners or buy a lower quality package or service than you need. Some things just can’t be replaced by cheaper alternatives, and good marketing is one of them. No matter whether your business is best served by blog sponsorship, PPC, local advertising, or other methods, get out there and use them! You’ll be glad you made the right choice when your business grows.

Compensation plans can be a great or they can be horrible depending on your goals and personal philosophies.

So if you are a Network marketing newbie, you have probably heard the term compensation plan thrown around frequently. And, of course, every company out there will tell you they have the best compensation in the industry. You may be aware that this is how you get paid with online programs, but do you really understand how compensation plans work?

Every program seems to have a different compensation plan to learn. You will hear terms such as:

Unilevel

Binary

Matrix

Forced matrix

Spillover (A favorite of many)

2-ups

Plus a lot more!

All this is to you is words that are correlated with compensation plans. But these can greatly impact the amount of money you make in your Network Marketing opportunity.

To start with, you need to know that the way multi-level marketing programs and affiliate programs pay you is through this plan. There are several different types of this plan that are employed to help you increase your income.

The first term you will want to familiarize yourself with is matrices. Matrices has to do with a matrix, which is everyone involved with the team. In some cases, anybody that is below you in the matrix will end up giving you a portion of the income they generate in the company. On the contrary, whoever signed you up will receive a portion of your income as well. But matrices only pay so many levels deep and then they cut off.

The next term associated with compensation plans is sideline compression. This term refers to what happens when a member does not have enough sales. From there, they will be moved down line and a person with better sales is moved up to take their place. This is another incentive for you to work hard and generate as many sales as possible.

Compression can be good or it can be bad. In the case of matrix, sometimes it can compress upwards and pay you 500% more than what you normally make.

Spillover is the term used to describe someone entering your organization that you did not sign up. They were brought into your organization by a downline member or an upline member.

A lot of newbies like spillover. For all intents and purposes, spillover is a gift.

The last term you need to be familiar with for compensation plans is override. Override is used to describe the amount applied to the sales volume from the sale of the product.

At the end of the day, what you need to ask yourself is a simple question:

How much money do I want to make a month and how many people do I need to sign up to get there?

Don’t count on spillover and don’t count on everyone else producing – most people will not produce and in fact most will quit. Or perhaps I should say most will never get started.

My personal recommendation is join a company that pays a lot of money for bringing someone in, $1000+ per sale, for example. The work and effort is the same, so why not go big?

It can be confusing with so many different terms and facets associated with compensation plans. However, it is vital you learn everything you can about this as this is how you will get paid with affiliate programs and network marketing companies.

Who said it was not possible to become a female entrepreneur and join the successful legion of women entrepreneurs? There are several opportunities to work for yourself as a woman entrepreneur whether it is online or starting a business from your home. In order to have success with this opportunity, here are a few tips to help you get started.

Tip #1 Confidence

As a lady, the deck is stacked against. Most people don’t think you can win. But to the entrepreneurial women out there seeking to join the ranks of women business owners, understand this: When it comes to free enterprise, facts and stats just don’t matter!

The first thing you must have is faith and confidence in yourself. There are going to be a number of people out there telling you that you cannot succeed and hoping you will fail so they can say “Well, I told you so.” There is a lot of competition to face in virtually every niche imaginable. But if you believe in yourself and have faith, you will do everything in your power to find success.

Tip #2 Make A Choice

The next thing you have to understand is that you have choices. There are several opportunities to pursue as a women entrepreneur. Professional women and women of influence take time to consider their options wisely. With so many options to choose from, you have the ability to get involved in something you have a passion for and knowledge in.

One of the most difficult things entrepreneurs face is balancing their time and using it effectively. You will be given an endless amount of freedom by working for yourself. It is up to you to manage this time and avoid the numerous distractions that will be in front of you. Stay focused and keep your mind on the goals you have set for yourself.

In order to have success as a female entrepreneur, you have to be willing to devote a great deal of time and effort in marketing and advertising (or at least devote money to experts who can market for you). You cannot sit back and expect people to come to you. You have to diversify your marketing techniques and apply several different methods to find what works best for you.

Tip #3 Cross The Finish Line

The last tip to help you find success as an entrepreneur is to set goals and then pursue them. It is vital you write out goals for you to work toward to give you something to strive for. As soon as you have set your goals, it is then up to you to pursue these goals. Just writing out goals will not do anything for you unless you work hard to achieve them.

There is a plethora of women entrepreneurs succeeding in the world today. While there are several qualities and characteristics that make up a successful entrepreneur, there are some things you can do to help yourself out. Take the tips listed in this article into consideration as you pursue your dream.

A great resource you may want to visit is: http://www.womenentrepreneur.com.

And, ladies, keep smiling. It’s beautiful. And one other thing, check out my newsletter to the right. I definitely would love to see more women networking!

Whether you are an Internet newbie or have been around the block a time or two, there is always room for entrepreneurship development. Always. Let me repeat that again: Always!

The day you think you know everything there is to know is the day you have failed your business. The Internet and the marketing that comes with it is constantly growing and evolving leaving no room to sit back. There’s a quote by Dani Johnson that I like that comes to mind:

The worst thing about success is a little bit.

If you want to continue to progress with your business, you have to be open to learn. As you probably figured out by now, your mind is like a parachute – it only works when it’s open!

Don’t Be Closed Minded

Part of entrepreneurship development is being open to opinions and thoughts. Listen to what others have to say and absorb their thoughts. Even if you do not learn anything new, you have nothing to lose by listening to others.

If anything, opening up allows you to build relationships and gain respect. A huge part of Internet marketing is bonding with others and gaining the respect from those within your niche…

This is something that many entrepreneurs overlook the importance of. Just because you are working on a computer does not mean you can hide behind the computer. Networking is crucial to succeeding online.

The Belief Factor

Another crucial facet to entrepreneurship development is believing in yourself and gaining self-confidence. While it may seem fairly simple, many find it difficult to believe in themselves after facing rejection a few different times. You are bound to fail before you taste success, but you have to continue to trust yourself before you actually succeed and…

You must development a bulletproof mindset and you read more about that here: Mindset

What About Goals?

One facet that many entrepreneurs overlook is writing out goals and defining them. Having goals will keep you motivated and give you something to strive for. When you do fail, you can look at your goals and push through the adversity. Having goals will help you formulate plans on how you intend on achieving them. And developing plans is crucial to succeeding online.

Get Moving. Hurry!

The last facet to entrepreneurship development is learning how to take initiative. You will be faced with countless distractions and bumps in the road to sidetrack you. For some people, excuses come in and they become the excuse…

But if you want to succeed and actually take your business somewhere, you have to take initiative and actually do something about it. Your business is not going to generate traffic on its own. It is not going to create quality content on its own. And it certainly is not going to interact with prospects and customers on its own. Just remember this: Perfection is overrated and action beats inaction any day of the week!

There is a lot that goes into entrepreneurship development. Many are side-swiped when they realize how difficult it really can be to succeed online. But if you are determined and willing to learn, you too can reap the benefits of having an online business.

And those benefits are most definitely worth reaping!

While the free market is filled with a plethora of opportunities for entrepreneurs to take advantage of, many people do not have the money to put down hundreds of dollars to start a business. However, there are a number of inexpensive business ideas you can jump on as well. Here are five ideas for you to look into today.

1. Create A Blog

Although it is extremely time consuming and it does not happen over night, creating a Web Site for yourself to work with provides you with the best chance to make money with. There are really just two charges you will make to get your site up and rolling. You will have to purchase a domain name which you can get from GoDaddy and pay for hosting, which you can get at GoDaddy as well.

To learn more about blogging, check out: What Is A Blog

Once you get a blog up, you can use a series of the other methods below. Or you can simply use it to sell your products and services. You can think of a blog as a gateway to opportunity.

2. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a great inexpensive business idea to go with your own web site. There are thousands of affiliate programs to join on the Internet and most do not have a start-up cost to join. With so many programs to choose from, it gives you the chance to do something you really enjoy and are knowledgeable with. And there is nothing stopping you from taking on several different programs all at the same time.

Check out Commission Junction and Click Bank to learn more.

3. Freelancing

Much like affiliate marketing, freelancing gives you the opportunity to put your skills and knowledge to use. There is a dire need for several different services on the internet including graphic design, writing, and advertising. Many entrepreneurs either do not have the time or do not have the skill to do everything with their business. This is where you can become a great commodity to other people’s businesses.

4. E-Bay

It is amazing how some businesses and companies come out of nowhere and become a hit overnight on E-Bay. An E-Bay business can be an extremely inexpensive business idea as it requires little money to get started.

E-Bay is also a good platform to use when you need some money. Just walk around your house and get rid of some clutter! As the old saying goes, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

5. Advertising

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is one of the easiest ways to make money on the Internet. All it entailed was you placing ads on your Web Site and getting paid for visitors coming to your site and clicking on the ads. To learn more about this, visit Google Adsense

Additionally, if your Web Site receives a heavy traffic flow, you can make quite a bit of money off of people paying you to place their text link or banner ad on your site for exposure.

The Internet is filled with inexpensive business ideas to choose from. It is up to you to take the time to research and find the legitimate opportunities that suite you best. If you some assistance in this process, leave a comment with your questions.

When looking to start an online business, how to start on the right track is something every aspiring entrepreneur is eager to learn. The competition is extremely stiff online making it all the more important you get off on the right foot. Here are a few tips for how to start your online business efficiently.

Tip # 1 – Have a plan of attack

The first thing you must do is create an in-depth plan to follow along, which includes developing yourself as well as your business. See the 3 Essential Keys To Winning In Network Marketing and Business for assistance on developing yourself.

Your plan will certainly change over time, but having a plan will help guide you in the right direction. Within your plan you want to include what you are going to do, who you are going to market to and how you are going to reach your target market (see how to discover and understand your market).

And make this note …

The more specific your plan, the more effective your business will be.

Tip # 2 – Set realistic goals

When running an online business, set some realistic goals. It is exciting venturing into your own business and starting a whole new career. BUT…

If you aim at nothing, nothing is what you will get along with entrepreneurial seizure in the process!

By creating some goals, you will have something to see every day to keep you excited for what is to come in the future.

Tip # 3 – Don’t wait to start marketing yourself and your business!

For some reason, many entrepreneurs wait to announce their new business on the Internet. Far too many people want to develop their Web Site further before promoting it. And then they want all the colors to be perfect. They spend so much time getting ready to get ready.

However, all this does is postpone any potential traffic, customers, business partners, etc., you could have coming to your enterprise. You want to begin promoting your business the second you have a domain name and hosting. Period. It will take time to get consistent traffic anyway.

Tip #4 – Weigh your ego with your bank account!

As you begin your online business, how to start with success does NOT mean all by yourself. If you come in with a John Wayne wild wild west attitude, you may fall on your ass pretty hard. And you may find that your ego weighs more than your bank account. Unfortunately your ego isn’t building you any wealth and improving your cash flow, so check it at the door…

Of course it is exciting running a business on your own (and when you do definitely congratulate yourself for doing something most people are afraid to do), but do NOT feel you have to do everything on your own. If you have obsessive and compulsive tendencies, you want to take steps to mitigate those as soon as possible.

Tip # 5 – Learn to love leverage and outsourcing!

Do NOT be afraid to hire someone for assistance or ask for advice from others within your niche. Believe it or not, most successful entrepreneurs are where they are because of the help they received. Do NOT have too much pride to ask for help.

Closing comments:

There is a lot to handle when starting an online business. You will have to handle several different responsibilities all at the same time, which can be a bit overwhelming. Take the tips listed in this article into consideration as you start your business online.

The concept of entrepreneurship has been around for several hundred years and has evolved greatly since first being introduced. While many consider it simply starting your own business, most economists have put much more into it than that. Economists believe an entrepreneur is someone willing to take on the risk of a new opportunity with the hope of profiting greatly.

Even this has been argued as others believe an entrepreneur is an innovator who markets their innovation. Therefore, it is difficult to answer what is entrepreneurship. But one thing is for certain; it is someone who is venturing out on their own to pursue a new opportunity.

Economist Joseph Schumpeter viewed entrepreneurship as:

a force of creative destruction

He claims that an entrepreneur takes on new ideas and new combinations to help render ideas from the past. Every day, something new and improved is thought of or invented. This is precisely what an entrepreneur is all about.

To take it a step further, many believe it is about searching for change, looking for improved ideas, responding to it and exploiting these changes as an opportunity. This is why many economists of today believe entrepreneurship is a necessary ingredient for stimulating growth and furthering our economy.

I cannot agree more.

Now that you know what is entrepreneurship, what exactly makes you an entrepreneur? There are several different qualities and characteristics that sum up an entrepreneur. Some of the personal attributes you will find include:

creativity

dedication

determination

flexibility

leadership

passion

In order to develop something that has not yet been thought of, you must have some creativity in your blood. This is the push for innovation and improvement from old ideas. As for the dedication, you will be working on your own and will need to devote several hours a day perhaps seven days a week. You have to be dedicated to succeed with an online business.

You are bound to face rough times throughout your journey to success. This is where determination kicks in to fight through the rough times. One of the first things you will find out as an entrepreneur is that things are constantly changing. In order to keep up with the constant change and evolution, you have to remain flexible.

Lastly, you have to have a passion for what you do and be a strong leader. There is no one to tell you what to do or when to do it. If you have strong leadership skills, you will have no problem staying focused and working toward your goals.

So what is entrepreneurship? It is a lot of things. It is searching for change, looking for answers, and looking for ways to improve the past. There are several opportunities for entrepreneurs to pursue their goals and start something great.

If you have not started something great, go for it today. Just take the leap.

Well, it’s the 5th of July, one day after Independence Day. Yesterday, while celebrating the United State’s independence, I thought about how I can help you by explaining what it takes to achieve true financial independence.

So let’s start with a real-world and easy-to-understand definition of wealth. If you look in some financial literature, they give some somewhat complicated definitions of wealth. And many people think wealth is related to how much money someone makes, which is very shallow in my opinion.

The definition that makes the most sense and is the most realistic is inspired by Robert Kiyosaki’s book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and here it is:

Wealth is how many days, months or years you can repeatedly pay off your monthly expenses without working a job.

For example, let’s say you require $2000 every month to pay off all of your expenses and have $6000 in your checking and savings accounts. You leave your job and you have no passive or residual income coming in. In this scenario, your wealth is 3 months.

Now let’s say you require $2000 every month but you have a passive income of $2000 every month. What is your wealth? In this scenario, your wealth is infinite.

Imagine that, being wealthy and only making $24k a year.

Your passive income income is covering all of your expenses EVERY month, so you don’t have to work a job unless you want to. When this happens, you get to leave the “rat race.” The “rat race” is simply depending on a job to cover our expenses and living pay check to pay check.

So wealth is simply how long you can repeatedly pay off your expenses without working a job.

Now how do you create wealth? Well, the formula is VERY simple, but it’s rarely taught, so most people don’t know it or ever encounter it, which is very sad. But since you’re here, I’m going to expose it to you.

But before I give it to you, let me give you some easy-to-follow definitions of assets and liabilities:

An asset is anything that creates money for you repeatedly.

A liability is anything that takes money away from you repeatedly.

In other words, your house is typically a liability to YOU (you repeatedly pay a mortgage every month) and an asset to your BANKER (you repeatedly pay your banker interest every month).

So, now let’s talk about how to create wealth so you can become financially independent one day. Here’s the formula the rich use:

Wealth Creation Formula = Buy Assets

That’s it? Yes! Keep it simple!

And if you are wondering, your Network and Internet Marketing businesses can be liabilities INITIALLY if they are not making you any money. However, I recommend you invest in yourself heavily and learn as much as you can about Network and Internet Marketing because over time, they can become your best asset.

If you ask me for a time frame, I recommend you give yourself at least 5 years to learn Network and Internet Marketing.

Wow, Forest, that’s a lot of time!

Is it really? Most people spend 4-5 years in college just to get a job and stay the “rat race” their entire lives. Why not work on your personal philosophy and give yourself and your businesses 4-5 years to create true wealth and achieve financial independence?

If you like the information provided in this blog and you want to learn more and improve your financial and business intelligence, do yourself a *HUGE* favor and head over to your local bookstore and pick up a copy of Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad or you can purchase it from Amazon below:

Additionally, I would strongly recommend you head over to Rich Dad’s Communities and see if you can find a Cash Flow 101 club in your local area.

Cash Flow 101 is a board game that teaches you how to get out of the rat race and improve your Financial IQ. To see a quick demo of the game, check out this link:

Cash Flow 101 Demo.

I host a Cash Flow Club myself and if you are in the Baton Rouge, LA area, contact me for the times and meeting location.

If you don’t see one in your area, be the leader, buy the game and start one. It’s one of the best mastermind activities you can do with your organization in your Network and Internet Marketing businesses and a great way to attract entrepreneurs or those wishing to become entrepreneurs.

Remember to buy assets so you can have unlimited wealth and become financially independent.

One of the most important tips to succeed in Network and Internet Marketing (or business in general) is to understand the psychology of why people buy.

Human psychology is a fascinating subject and if you ever master it, you can, as the rich do, “create money.” Just make sure you do it with a rock solid product, service or idea that delivers a lot of value or entertainment to your customer.

That being said, there are psychological triggers that make people buy products and services with little or no hesitation. You want to know what they are, so lets begin with some questions…

Why do you buy products or services?

Why do I buy products or services?

People are very different and buy for different reasons.

But there is one central theme driving those reasons and that is this:

People buy a solution to a problem.

Really, it is that easy.

But lets expand a little further and talk about some of the most popular and appealing problems people buy solutions for.

Ready? OK, lets do it…

People buy to save time:

Time. We only have 24 hours of it a day! (isn’t that scary) We seem to always need more of it.

Understand this: In our fast-paced environment, the market for products and services that can give us some of our time back to do other things will never go out of fashion. If you can really save people time, you can make money. And lots of it too!

People buy to gain more security:

In our society, the mainstream media constantly pitches fear at us. You can turn on your 5 o’clock news almost every night and watch something that injects fear and worry into most of us whether it be high gas prices, the crashing real estate market, rising crime in your local area, or some new virus in the air.

With that said, it becomes instinctive for most people to buy products or services that gives them more security.

People buy to reduce or eliminate repetitive or hard work:

Repetitive and hard work? Yuck!

You probably enjoy keeping things fresh and interesting, right? And if you are like me, you like to keep things as easy as possible. Have you ever had a job or a business task where you had to do the same thing over and over or something extremely repetitive or physically or mentally draining that ruins the rest of your evening because you’re so dang exhausted?

Well, people will definitely buy anything that can reduce or eliminate repetitive or hard work.

We’ve all heard the statement “There’s got to be an easier way of doing this.” And if you can show people that way with your product or service, money will chase you down. And that’s a good problem to have!

People buy to save money and make money:

Hey we all need money to survive. If you have a product or service that saves people money or makes people money (or even better, does both), people will consider your product or service.

People buy to feed their curiosity:

Some things sound really good to us or really odd to us, but in a lot of cases, we don’t really know until we try.

I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials advertising some psychic you can call that can tell you your future, etc. Most people call psychics because they’re “curious” as to what the psychic really knows (or doesn’t know).

Always create curiosity when you can. It’s a great psychological trigger that will help your sales improve dramatically. Think about how many times you’ve purchased a product or service out of curiosity.

People buy to acquire pleasure:

Unloading $5,000 on the latest and greatest 60″ high definition TV (HDTV) and another $500 on a BluRay DVD player is simply buying pleasure. The big TV looks great in your living room and you’ll be a hero on gameday when all of the guys come over to watch the game on your 60″ big screen. It’s great entertainment and entertainment is one of the best pleasures in life.

And your Network and Internet Marketing business allows you to make a lot of money from home and live life in a big way once you figure the game out. How do you feel about that for acquiring pleasure? After all, do you really want to stay in the rat race your entire life living paycheck to paycheck? If you do, you are on the wrong blog!

And since we’re talking about pleasure, let’s shift our focus to pain…

People buy to avoid pain:

Listen, I don’t like pain. You don’t like pain. It can be physical pain, emotional pain, or financial pain…nobody likes pain. Period.

If something hurts bad enough and you can buy something to mitigate or better yet eliminate the pain, you will buy it hands down.

And there they are – the biggest problems people will buy solutions to.

There are other reasons why people buy, but these are some of the biggest and most important, especially in the Network and Internet Marketing arena.

This is an extremely crucial tip and I recommend you bookmark this particular blog and print it out.

Whenever you are putting together any marketing piece such as your own blog (which you definitely need), a sales letter (again, something you definitely need), a Web Site presentation, a Webinar, a conference call, etc., pull out this blog and make sure you understand why people buy.

When you do, include as many psychological buying triggers as possible by talking about a problem and presenting your solution. If you can present the solution indirectly and from the perspective of a consultant rather than a sales professional, you will probably have a very profitable marketing piece.

Sponsoring or enrolling the right people into your network marketing business can seem extremely challenging.

The reason for this is because most network marketing companies teach you how to be a disciple of their vision, their services, or their products rather than teaching you effective prospecting tips and closing tips (more commonly known as sales closing techniques).

And that’s fine. Your network marketing company is really only required to pay you on time and make sure the products and services or delivered on time and managed properly. The rest is up to you, the professional network marketer!

So what does it take to master the art of prospecting and closing?

Well, it takes quite a few elements, and you can read many prospecting tips and closing tips, but none of them matter unless you possess one element that will make you or break you when it comes to prospecting and closing:

Your Mindset.

Your mindset is everything. You can do everything else right, but if you don’t possess the proper mindset, you likely will not last very long in network marketing.

Mindset is simply the state of your mind. It’s what’s running through your mind when you’re talking with a prospect…

Are you asking the prospect to do you a favor by looking at your presentation?

Are you praying and holding on to your four-leaf clover, rabbit’s foot or lucky rock that they will look at your presentation and/or sign up with you? And is it working if you are?

Are you letting the prospect ask all the questions on the initial meeting and making you sweat buck shots?

If you are, then your prospect will likely pick up immediately you are not a professional, you are new, you are indirectly begging them to join your business, or you simply are NOT the leader they are looking for.

If this is the case, you likely will NOT sign anyone up and if you do not change your mindset, you will probably quit and head to the network marketing cemetery thinking to yourself

“Wow, I made a big mistake! Obviously no one is interested in network marketing. Everyone was right. This is a scam!”

You can point the finger at a lot of things or you can simply hold yourself accountable and develop the proper mindset and that mindset is to BELIEVE that you, as my friend Tim says, have the goose that lays the golden egg and you have an abundance of people who want the golden eggs that your goose lays.

When you really BELIEVE this, you simply feel comfortable asking your prospects questions to ensure they qualify for your time and your leadership.

So, how to you develop this form of mindset?

First and foremost, you must engage in personal development. It’s the best way to really develop the type of mindset required to win in business. I actually said the most important tip I can give you is to “develop your mindset.” I could have also said the most important tip I can you is to “engage in personal development.” They go hand and hand.

Another great way to make it easy to develop a strong mindset to have more prospects than you have time. When this happens, it makes it easy to be extremely selective in who qualifies for your time, heart, knowledge and leadership and your mindset will grow even stronger.

Throughout my blog, I will provide you with tips to assist you in getting more network marketing prospects than time (mostly using the Internet).

NOTE: Although this tip is filed under prospecting tips and closing tips, mindset is crucial for all aspects of your businesses and your personal life. You have to have the proper mindset to lead, to market (or to hire the right people to market it for you), to expand your team, etc.

Any endeavor requiring sacrifice and commitment all begins with a proper mindset.

Bottom line: Mindset is your most important element. So definitely engage in personal development to effectively development your mindset. Or, simply get ready to take a trip to the network marketing cemetery. It’s your choice.

In the next prospecting and closing tip, I’ll discuss how you can make them really hold their hand outs for one of your golden eggs. It’s like fishing with $100 bills, so if you want to know how to bait your hooks with $100 dollar bills, read it now.
